The weather recovered overnight and it turned out to be a beautiful day on November 15th. The 60th Macau Grand Prix has been blessed in a way as each category qualifying session was held under blue skies. The Macau Grand Prix expectation is getting warmed up.
Free Practice 2 (45minutes) and Qualifying 2 (30minutes) were held following Free Practice 1 and Qualifying 1 yesterday.

Free Practice 2 started at 11:00 am and 13 minutes later, Lucas AUER crashed in the mountain side and a red flag was called for an interruption though most of the drivers' lapping time went up towards the end. As a result, Kevin KORJUS finished at 2'12"817 with the best qualification time. Tom BLOMQVIST finished in second and Jazeman JAAFAR finished in third.

For Qualifying 2 which started from 14:50 pm, it was a stormy ession with three crashes and a red flag interruption each time. F3 European Champion Raffaele MARCIELLO marked the best time at 2'11"555 in the last 3 minutes and obtained a Pole Position for the Qualification Race tomorrow. Felix ROSENQVIST finished in second and Alex LYNN finished in third.

F3 is scheduled to have 10 Qualification Races tomorrow.
FIA WTCC had the longest racing time in today's trials and they had three sessions, Free Practice 1 & 2 and qualifying session.

Free Practice 1 started from 08:30 am and Yvan MULLER (Chevrolet Cruze) marked the best time at 2'31"121. Pepe ORIOLA (Chevrolet Cruze) followed him and the top 4 machines were marked in 2'31". Even though Yukinori TANIGUCHI had a huge crash yesterday, he returned to the race today.

At the Free Practice 2 which started from 12:15 pm, Tom CHILTON (Chevrolet Cruze) crashed in the mountain side 5 minutes after the start so the marshal called a red flag.

Then a second red flag was called again at 12:45 pm. Each driver had a challenging session, but in the end Pepe ORIOLA finished with the best time at 2'31"027, and Yvan MULLER finished in second.

There were three red flag interruptions during Qualifying 1 which started from 15:50 pm, and Yvan MULLER lapped the best time at 2'30"142. Robert HUFF finished in second and Norbert MICHELISZ finished in third. The top 12 machines qualified to the Qualifying 2.

Qualifying 2 (15 minutes) started at 17:03 and Yvan MULLER maintained a good condition and obtained a Pole Position in a commanding lead at 2'28"933. Tiago MONTEIRO, HONDA, finished in second and Gabriele TARQUINI, HONDA , finished in third. FIA WTCC final is scheduled to occur this coming Sunday. Stay tuned!
¡Macau GT Cup

City of Dreams Macau GT Cup qualifying session was held on Friday and Saturday and Qualifying 1 started from 13:55 pm.

Right after the qualifying session started, Pasin LATHOURAS (Ferrari 458 Italia GT3) crashed at the Mandarin Corner and some motor oil spread onto the circuit and onto other areas so the marshal interrupted the session at 14:04 pm.

After the race resumed with 20'19" left to the end, each driver started a fierce competition with one another. Maro ENGEL (Mercedes SLS AMG GT3) equipped with YOKOHAMA tires emerged to the top amongst the other drivers and kept his motivation as the best lap holder.

However he couldn't obtain a Pole Position and finished in second.Renger VAN DER ZANDE (Mercedes SLS AMG GT3),another YOKOHAMA tire user, ended in third.



¡Macau Road Sport Challenge

At the qualifying session for Suncity Group Macau Road Sport Challenge today, the qualifying session started from 10:10 am and each machine showed its best performance under the clear skies.

The grand marshal paused the qualification race with a red flag to assemble the stopped machine at the last 6'37" just before the end. As each driver struggled to clear their lap time, Tatsuya TANIGAWA (Mazda RX-8) qualified with 2'36"582 in his first lap and qualified to a second grid. YOKOHAMA tire users qualified top of the list in this category.
