1980

ADVAN tire equipped cars compete in the All Japan Formula 2 Championship "Suzuka Great 20 Races."
 

1979

This year, a car with the ADVAN color scheme made its racing debut in the minor touring car category, winning second prize. This marked the beginning of the ADVAN brand's glorious history (photo taken in 1980).

  • ADVAN TA-02, the first truly all-season tire to be produced domestically, is launched.
  • Machine with ADVAN color first appears on the circuit.
  • 3-KR Starlet and B-110 Sunny make a debut in the Minor Touring Division of the Fuji Grand Champion Series.
  • Formula Pacific, a pure racing machine, also equipped with ADVAN tires.
  • ADVAN rally team is established and wins a B-Class championship.
 

1978

  • ADVAN HF, a new series of radial tires for passenger vehicles, is launched.
  • ADVAN brand, based on the firm's motor sports tire products, is created.
  • Yokohama Rubber sponsors "Japan Racing of Champions" and starts to supply tires for one-make race for the first time.
 

1963

Yokohama Rubber starts to supply tires for motor sports in Japan.
