The 59th Macau Grand Prix sees the 30th anniversary of YOKOHAMA as the official F3 tire supplier.

On 16 November, YOKOHAMA held an anniversary party in Macau’s Fisherman’s Wharf.

There were about 200 guests invited from all over the world.

The ceremony started with the opening words and toast by Norio Karashima, Vice President of YOKOHAMA.

Andre Couto, winner of the 2001 Macau Grand Prix and entering SUPER GT Series GT500 class with YOKOHAMA tire, gave a congratulatory speech.

Participants were taking a look back on 30 years long and exciting history with a movie. A memorial car, which Takuma Sato used to win in the Macau Grand Prix in 2001, was exhibited at the venue.

The president of YOKOHAMA Rubber, Hikomitsu Noji, introduced YOKOHAMA’s global motorsport activities, and unveiled the global flagship tire “ADVAN Sport V105”.

All of the participants had a great interest in the new flagship model.

This year is our 30th anniversary to supply tires to Macau Grand Prix. Our motorsports tire history is quite long.Since the introduction of ADVAN products in 1978, YOKOHAMA has been aggressively conducting its motorsports activities throughout the world.Including such as Formula, GT, Touring cars, Rally and Kart, our motorsports activities cover a wide range.

We adopt the element technology which has been developed through motorsports to the road tires.

For example, “Matrix body ply” structure, put into the new “ADVAN Sport V105”, enhances steering stabilities. That unique technology has been developed in the motorsports field. Not only structure but also compound, tread, and way of thinking.

I am so proud and happy to introduce this new “ADVAN Sport V105” to you today. I believe this tire is the best of the best in Yokohama’s history.
